Iranian Intelligence Minister Ismail Khatib stated on Monday that his ministry's budget has increased tenfold in the past three years, under the government of President Ebrahim Raisi, who was killed in a helicopter crash in May.
IRAN INTERNATIONAL -- He said these words during a review of the activities of the government which is in its last days of office and will soon be replaced by the government of President-elect Masoud Pazkhian.
Khatib explained that the increase in the budget was intended to deal with the "Israeli threats" and noted that Iranian intelligence had "successes" against these threats.
According to Khatib, the ministry focuses on identifying and arresting "elimination networks" that operate throughout Iran and explained that part of the increased budget was directed to recruiting more intelligence personnel to the ranks of the ministry.
