Sam Salamey, the Chief Judge of 19th District Court in Dearborn, Michigan, said in a September 22, 2024 interview on NBN TV (Lebanon) that the recent pager attacks against Hezbollah operatives was planned by the CIA and NATO and executed by Israel.
He explained that Hezbollah is a designated terrorist organization in the United States and that many of the individuals recently targeted in Lebanon had been previously wanted by the U.S. for their involvement in the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing.
He said that the CIA had been involved in delaying Hezbollah's original shipment of pagers and replacing them with the booby-trapped units.
In addition, Salamey said that 11 students from the University of Michigan are standing trial for supporting Gaza and the Palestinian "resistance," and he said that students at all the prestigious universities in the United States are being harassed and denied their basic civil rights just because they are "making a stand" in accordance with the U.S. Constitution.
Salamey works in the Dearborn government, which is headed by Mayor Abdullah Hammoud.
