The Biden administration imposed sanctions yesterday on entities in Iran and Russia, accusing them of attempting to interfere in the US presidential election held in November. The entities include a subsidiary of Iran's Revolutionary Guards and an organization affiliated with Russia's military intelligence agency.

The US Treasury Department said that the entities acted to inflame socio-political tensions and influence American voters through disinformation campaigns, including through the use of artificial intelligence.
