I will start by saying that if such an alliance had been promoted about a decade ago, there would have been a pretty good chance that Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan and Egypt would have joined this alliance.
Today, Iran is the rising and strongest power in the Middle East - a fact that is hard to ignore.
Iran has imposed its rule on almost all of the Middle East, either directly or through its proxies - a reality that was imposed due to a tyrannical European approach that does not correspond to the Middle Eastern reality.
- Today, the Saudis, after resuming relations with Iran, are looking for peace and non-combat - this can be seen in their statement from yesterday. The American hesitancy and their failure in the face of the Iranians and Houthis constituted a "tie-breaker" in the Saudi decisions.
- The United Arab Emirates is an "imitator" of Saudi Arabia and closely follows the Saudi measures. The Emirates are also very dependent on imports from Iran, which has grown tremendously in recent years.
- In Egypt, known for its refusal to any agreements with any country, the great economic troubles and the Muslim Brotherhood at home will keep it away from such an agreement.
None of these three countries would be "fascinated" by an anti-Iranian alliance at a time when Iran is rapidly emerging as the preeminent geopolitical power in the Middle East.
