Sources in the new Syrian regime claim that "Israel is now threatening water security in Syria, following its control of important water sources and dams in the rural areas of Quneitra and Daraa."
The sources added that "there is a threat to water security in Syria, following the Israeli occupation army's control of important water sources and dams in the Quneitra and Daraa regions, and its proximity to strategic water sources in Jabal al-Sheikh (Mount Hermon) that supply water to most of the rural areas of Damascus and the western and southern suburbs of the capital."
According to the sources, "the number of control points that the Israeli occupation army has created in the 'buffer zone' since the fall of the regime has reached 12, after establishing new points in recent days on the Rasem al-Rawachi, Umm al-Azzam and Al-Mantra Dam axis in the rural area of Quneitra."
It should be noted that according to reports, IDF forces withdrew yesterday from the Al-Mantra Dam area, which is the largest in southern Syria.
