Israel has announced that it will retain control over the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
A statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office on Wednesday refuted claims that the Palestinian Authority would oversee the crossing.
The ceasefire, now in its fourth day, aims to provide a period of calm in war-torn Gaza for at least six weeks, during which 33 hostages held by Hamas are set to be released in exchange for hundreds of Palestinians detained by Israel.
According to the statement, European Union monitors will oversee the crossing, which will be secured by Israeli forces. Israel will also manage the movement of people and goods through the crossing.
On the third day of the ceasefire, nearly 900 aid trucks entered Gaza, exceeding the 600 trucks stipulated in the agreement.
