NEWSRAEL: Notice that no one is willing to accept refugees from Gaza? The reason is they want to keep the conflict with Israel alive.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed his country's willingness to accept refugees coming from Syria and Lebanon due to the "ongoing Israeli escalation".
Erdogan explained in a press conference with the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Schulz, after their meeting on Saturday in Istanbul, that Turkey's door is open to any refugee who wants to come from Syria or Lebanon.
According to him, "Our door has always been open to refugees from Syria, and it is open now, and if there are people coming from Lebanon, our door is also open to them, especially that there are Turkmen in Lebanon."
In another context, the President of Turkey criticized the ongoing Israeli escalation in Gaza and Lebanon, and emphasized that "we notice a clear approach in the mentality of Israel and Netanyahu, whose goal is to expand this war, not to keep it within a specific circle."
Erdogan noted that he discussed with Schultz "the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza and the rest of the Palestinian territories and its attacks against Lebanon," and emphasized that Turkey and Germany have reached a "common desire to fight terrorist organizations, especially the Kurdistan Workers' Party and Golan."
A note in the background of the article: Erdogan's "kindness" stems from only one reason, and that is the German Chancellor's promise to increase the financial aid that the European Union gives to Turkey in exchange for its efforts to stop the wave of refugees from the Middle East infiltrating into European territory from Turkish soil.
