Imad Jaro was in continuous contact with the terror group's military wing, and operated out of a compound in the Gaza humanitarian zone, according to the IDF
Israel eliminated a member of Hamas’s military wing in a precision airstrike in the area of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip on Saturday evening.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, Imad Jaro operated in a Hamas compound in the Gaza humanitarian zone used to plan and carry out attacks against troops and the State of Israel.
Jaro actively participated in Hamas’s government and political operations in Deir al-Balah and the central camps, serving as the city’s mayor and heading the Government Emergency Committee in central Gaza. He was in continuous contact with officials in the terror group’s military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades.
The IDF emphasized that measures were taken before the strike to minimize harm to civilians, accusing Hamas of continuing “to abuse civilian and humanitarian infrastructure for its terrorist activities, in violation of international law.”
Overnight Friday, the Israeli Air Force struck Hamas terrorists planning imminent attacks against IDF troops operating in Gaza and against Israeli territory.
The terrorists were operating inside a command and control center embedded within a compound that previously served as the “Yaffa” school in Gaza City.
