Report in Bild: An attack against the Israeli embassy in Berlin was foiled. A 28-year-old man from Libya was arrested on suspicion of supporting ISIS and planning to attack the embassy and then flee the country. The security in Germany received assistance from "foreign intelligence agencies."
Heavily armed elite police stormed a house in Bernau in Brandenburg on Saturday. In addition, an apartment in a high-rise building in Sankt Augustin (North Rhine-Westphalia) was searched. The anti-terror police arrested a Libyan man (28) considered a supporter of the terrorist organization ISIS.
TIP CAME FROM A FOREIGN SECRET SERVICES
The German authorities tracked down the man, who was not previously known to be a threat, thanks to a specific tip-off from foreign intelligence services. The anti-terror agents had intercepted explosive messages.
According to them, the Libyan allegedly wanted to attack Israel's diplomatic mission in the capital.
