(April 21, 2025 / JNS) The Israeli National Security Council issued a warning on Monday, ahead of a global “Day of Rage” in protest of the war against Hamas.

“On Tuesday, April 22, a global ‘Day of Rage’ is expected to take place in support of the Palestinians. In this context, numerous calls have been identified online to hold protests, demonstrations and disruptions in various countries around the world, led by pro-Palestinian elements,” stated the NSC, which is part of the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.

The rallies could escalate into violence targeting Israelis or Jews, the council warned. There are also concerns that “terror supporters or lone attackers” could try to harm Israelis under the cover of protests.

The NSC noted a rise in activity by “extremist groups” worldwide, particularly since the start of the Swords of Iron war on Oct. 7, 2023, including calls for protests and, in some instances, violent rhetoric.

The NSC warning urged Israelis traveling abroad to avoid displaying Israeli symbols or signs in public; stay away from protest sites; remain alert at all times; and obey instructions from local security authorities.

In case of emergency, Israelis should immediately contact local law enforcement, the NSC said. In addition, the Israeli Foreign Ministry operates a 24/7 emergency hotline for questions related to crime or antisemitism, which can be reached on +972-2-530-3155, it noted.

Anti-Israel groups have called for a “global shutdown for Palestine,” set to take place on Tuesday. Activists have threatened to shut down businesses and block streets, amid other acts of “civil disobedience.”
