Republicans are projected to regain control of the House of Representatives, completing a trifecta for the party as they also hold the Senate and the presidency.
Decision Desk HQ has indicated that Republicans have won sufficient seats to take the House, projecting a majority of 218 to 209 over Democrats.
In the recent election, House Republicans achieved notable victories against their Democratic counterparts. Notably, Republican candidate Rob Bresnahan triumphed over incumbent Rep. Matt Cartwright in Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District. Additionally, Ryan Mackenzie unseated incumbent Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) in the contest for Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District.
However, The Hill reported that three newly elected Republican representatives from New York were defeated in their respective races.
This shift in House control follows last week’s presidential election, where President-elect Donald Trump emerged victorious over Vice President Kamala Harris, successfully securing over 270 votes in the Electoral College.
Breitbart News’s Bradley Jaye previously noted that the Republican majority in the Senate will lead to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) losing his position.
