Lebanese politician Wiham Wahhab: The Palestinian state is a pipe dream; The Islamic Nation does not want to fight Israel; The Shiites in the region should be realistic and turn to peace with Israel
Lebanese Druze leader and former Minister of the Environment, Wiam Wahhab, appeared on Al-Jadeed TV (Lebanon) on December 15, 2024, where he advocated for pursuing peace with Israel.
He explained that the Druze have a “survival complex,” and in order to ensure their survival, he is willing to collaborate with anyone, even Satan, if necessary. Wahhab emphasized, “I will collaborate with Satan to protect my tribe, not just with Syria.”
Wahhab also expressed his belief that the Palestinian state has become a distant dream, suggesting that the Lebanese nation no longer wants to fight Israel. He stated that if the Shiites asked for his advice, he would recommend implementing UNSC Resolution 1701 and seeking peace with Israel.
He added: “The nation does not want to fight for the sake of Palestine. […] Will you force it to fight against its will?” Wahhab further argued that Lebanon should abandon the logic of war with Israel.
