NEWSRAEL: France may ban Israel from it's arms exhibit, but who needs them? Israeli defense companies showcase their products during the IDF's successful campaign against Hezbollah.
The Israeli "Elbit Systems" company announced yesterday, Monday, that it won contracts worth approximately 335 million dollars to supply defense systems to a European country.
The contracts include the supply of PULS (Precision Universal Launch Systems) missile launchers, Hermes 900 missiles and UAVs equipped with advanced munitions. The projects are expected to be completed within three and a half years.
The PULS rocket launch system and the Hermes 900 UAV are the flagship products of Elbit Systems.
The Hermes 900 system, which is also used by the Israeli forces alongside the Hermes 450 and Zik drones, has seen increased global demand since the war between Russia and Ukraine. The PULS system provides a versatile and economical solution, capable of launching unguided missiles and precision guided munitions at various ranges. The system is fully adapted to existing platforms - wheels or trailers - and results in significant savings in maintenance costs.
The multi-mission Hermes 900 model UAV belongs to the category of medium-altitude, long-stay-in-the-air UAVs and is designed for a wide variety of missions, including regional control, intelligence gathering, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) on land and at sea. Since its first sale in 2011, it has been chosen by more than 20 customers worldwide.
This order adds to Elbit's high order book of $21 billion, reported for the second quarter of 2024. The company is scheduled to release its third-quarter financial results on Tuesday, with the order backlog expected to grow further.
