Authorities in India are investigating ''very disturbing'' information about USAid activities (election interference).
The Indian Foreign Ministry's comment comes two days after Trump mentioned information released by Doge, the Elon Musk-led department, showing that the United States Agency for International Development (USAid) has invested $21 million in "increasing voter participation" in India.
"We have seen information released by the US administration regarding certain activities and funding of USAid. These are of course very disturbing. This has raised concerns about foreign interference in the internal affairs of India," Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said at a weekly press conference when asked about USAid activities in India.
Jaiswal said that "relevant departments and agencies" are looking into the matter.
On February 16, Doge posted on the X network a list of funds that USAID, whose operations were frozen by Trump, had transferred, including $21 million to increase voter turnout in India.
