The Lebanese Shiite terrorist organizations, Hezbollah and Amal (whose leader is the strong Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri), in a strong joint statement today:
- Reject and oppose the remaining IDF forces in southern Lebanon.
- Demand the guarantor countries of the ceasefire agreement to ensure the withdrawal of IDF forces and the implementation of Resolution 1701.
- Demand the Lebanese government to ensure this and enforce its sovereignty.
- Claim that the reconstruction of the country, including buildings and infrastructure damaged during the fighting, falls to the Lebanese government and it must immediately begin reconstruction work.
ERAN MALKA ADDS:
Hezbollah and Amal know that the Lebanese government does not have the financial and/or operational capacity to reconstruct Lebanon.
They are deliberately pushing it to show the Lebanese residents that the government is doing nothing for them and therefore the citizens' support for the Shiite organizations is important.
As it seems, after Nasrallah's funeral, changes will begin in the approach of the Shiite organizations to the Lebanese government, and it is not impossible that we will soon witness attempted rebellion/coup in Lebanon.
