NEWSRAEL: Now, with the USAID scandal just beginning, it could be said that if these corrupt workers for a corrupt government department condemn Israel - The Jewish state should see it as a compliment.
A month after October 7 massacres, on November 1, 2023, 1000 USAID workers signed a protest letter against Israel without mentioning a word about the Hamas massacres.
Last week, an open letter began circulating at the U.S. Agency for International Development, calling on the Biden administration to support an immediate cease-fire in Gaza.
The letter follows a month of conflict that began with the deaths of 1,400 people in Israel at the hands of a Hamas attack, and has since seen more than 10,000 people killed in Gaza by Israeli bombing.
The letter criticizes Israel for numerous violations of international law, and says that USAID itself has little ability to provide humanitarian support while “indiscriminate bombing and violence” remains ongoing.
“As development, public health, and humanitarian assistance professionals, we are alarmed and disheartened at the numerous violations of international law; laws which aim to protect civilians, medical and media personnel, as well as schools, hospitals, and places of worship,” the letter, which Devex obtained a copy of, states. “At the time of writing, an alarming number of civilian deaths have been documented in the Gaza strip, and entire Palestinian families wiped off the civil registry.”
USAID employees have joined together in large numbers to write a letter expressing their dissatisfaction with U.S. policy on Gaza, and have called on the Biden administration to advocate publicly for a cease-fire.
The article, praising the USAID workers, originated in Foreign Policy.
