The French paper JDD reports today that a 19-year-old young man was indicted, then imprisoned, this Friday.
He was suspected of planning attacks targeting people of the Jewish faith during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
He is suspected of being in contact on the social network Telegram with another young man (18 years old), who was indicted last May for planned attacks on the sidelines of football events at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium of Saint-Étienne.
This time it was a question of attacking people of the Jewish faith during the sporting event, the daily informs.
Arrested at his home at the beginning of the week by investigators from the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI), the young man confessed during the hearings.
He thus proclaimed that these were only “fantasies” and “delusions” in which he dreamed of fighting for Islam on behalf of Palestine in the war against Israel.
