In a deeply disturbing case, a Swedish court in Malmö has convicted two Afghan teenagers, Irshad Ahmad and Elham Bahram, both 16 years old, for the gang rape of a vulnerable 13-year-old girl at knifepoint.
This alarming attack highlights the dangers that come with open border policies.
The sexual assault occurred on the night of February 17 in the Nydala district of Malmö. Ahmad and Bahram, who came to Sweden in 2017 and gained citizenship three years later, lured the young girl to a hidden location. The Afghanis threatened to stab the child if she did not perform the sexual acts they demanded. The migrant boys gang-raped her and filmed the sexual attack.
The police response led to the arrest of Ahmad and Bahram, with substantial evidence, including DNA and semen samples, found at the scene. Despite one suspect denying the allegations and the other claiming consent, the court found them guilty. Ahmad was convicted of aggravated child rape, indecent photography, child pornography, and two additional assaults on young girls. However, because of his “young age,” he received ten months in juvenile detention, while Bahram was sentenced to one year of youth supervision.
