Lara Trump responds to speculation she’ll replace Rubio in Senate: ‘I would love to consider it’
President-elect Donald Trump's daughter-in-law Lara has responded to calls for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to appoint her to fill Secretary of State nominee Marco Rubio's soon-to-be-vacant Senate seat, saying she'd "love to consider it."
"If I am able to serve, I would love to serve the people of Florida, this is my home state now and it has been for three years ... to have that opportunity I think would be incredible," she told Sean Hannity on Wednesday.
Lara Trump is married to Donald Trump's son Eric. She is fresh off co-running the RNC and has been widely praised for helping Republicans sweep the presidency and both houses of Congress.
After Trump selected Rubio to serve as his top diplomat, there has been widespread speculation that Lara Trump would be selected to replace him.
A source close to her told The Post she is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' top choice to replace Rubio in the Senate.
