The Saudi news channel, Al-Arabiya, reports from its sources that the US has informed Baghdad that it has "exhausted all means of pressure" on Israel to prevent airstrikes against Iraqi targets in response to continued attacks by Iraqi factions on Israeli territory.
According to the report, Washington urged the authorities in Baghdad to act quickly to stop these attacks on Israel.
On the other hand, Iraqi security sources told Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadat that the Iraqi government has taken all the necessary measures to deal with the Israeli airstrikes. They added that the Prime Minister of Iraq will inform the political blocs in the country regarding "the seriousness of the situation if the factions continue to attack Israel from the territory of Iraq."
In recent months, armed factions in Iraq loyal to Iran, united under the organizational name "Islamic Resistance in Iraq", took responsibility for a large number of attacks on targets in Israeli territory using UAVs.
After Israel's attack on Iran last month, reports were published that Iran would respond with attacks from Iraqi territory. "Hezbollah Brigades", a pro-Iranian organization in Iraq, commented on these reports on November 7 when it stated:
"The rumors about the transfer of weapons or preparations for the Iranian response against the entity, which will be carried out from Iraq, are nothing more than an attempt to hide from the attack even before it was carried out and this while relying on misleading information that is transmitted for the Americans and the West".
