In light of recent developments, Iran and Hezbollah have issued renewed threats toward Israel, demanding an end to the destruction of Syrian military capabilities.
This comes after Hezbollah suffered significant losses, with over 70% of its military strength reportedly decimated. The group has since sought a ceasefire, while Iran has largely retreated from Syria following the flight of President Assad, resulting in a staggering loss of over $50 billion invested in bolstering its influence in the region.
An Iranian source lamented the ongoing Israeli airstrikes in Syria, which have intensified, particularly targeting research centers in Damascus.
These strikes are not merely aimed at dismantling Syrian military assets but also at crippling the nation’s scientific and research infrastructure. The intent, as outlined, is to systematically erase Syria's technological and strategic capabilities.
Analysts suggest that once the current phase of airstrikes concludes, Israel may initiate targeted operations against Syrian military scientists, reminiscent of actions taken in Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein, where numerous Iraqi scientists were reportedly eliminated.
This pattern of attacks is anticipated to extend to Iran, with Israel prepared to eliminate any perceived threat, regardless of scale. Attacks have been reported across various Syrian cities, continuing the trend of destruction.
The Iranian regime is urged to recognize the gravity of the situation, as Israel shows no hesitation in neutralizing potential threats as they emerge.
Hezbollah has echoed these sentiments, stating, “The repeated crimes of the Zionist enemy in Syrian territories, including the ongoing occupation of parts of the Golan Heights and attacks on Syria’s defensive capabilities, represent blatant aggression and a serious violation of sovereignty.” They argue that such actions destabilize the region and threaten the integrity of the Syrian state.
Hezbollah condemned the Israeli occupation and reiterated the importance of unity among Arab and Islamic nations to counter these attacks. They called for a global response to halt these actions, dismissing Israeli justifications as unfounded claims.
