NEWSRAEL: Even if this is not some "doctored" footage and Qaani is alive, this leaves more questions than answers. Why, when rumours were so widespread, didn't he appear until now? Where was he, and why?
After about two weeks of not being seen in public: Iranian television broadcast a documentary of Ismail Qaani.
Tonight, Iranian television broadcast footage of Ismail Qaani, commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guards.
Qaani was seen together with other senior Iranian officials at Mahrabad Airport in Tehran while awaiting the arrival of the body of Abbas Nilforshan, a senior Revolutionary Guards officer in Lebanon who was killed during the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut last month.
Qaani, among other things, was seen crying on air, bearing in mind that Nilpurshan was under his command.
In the last two weeks, many reports have been published about Qaani's condition, including that he was killed in the IDF bombings in Beirut and that he was arrested and interrogated by the authorities on the suspicion that important information was leaked to Israel through him, and even that he suffered a heart attack during those interrogations.
