CNN Report: Chinese-made materials delivered to Iran could fuel hundreds of missiles
A CNN report reveals that Chinese-manufactured materials that arrived in Iran this week could be sufficient to produce approximately 260 solid rocket motors for *Khaibar Shekan* missiles or 200 ballistic missiles of the Haj Qasem type.
Meanwhile, The Washington Post reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed various contingency plans with then-U.S. President Donald Trump, ranging from military aid to a diplomatic ultimatum. According to the report, Israel demanded that Iran abandon its nuclear program in a manner similar to Libya—otherwise, it would face military strikes. While President Biden had deliberated the issue, the decision was ultimately left to Trump.
In addition, CNN disclosed that Iran received a shipment of over 1,000 tons of sodium perchlorate from China, a key chemical used to produce ammonium perchlorate, the primary component in solid rocket fuel for Iran’s medium-range missiles. The existence of this shipment was initially reported by the Financial Times about three weeks ago, and it arrived at Bandar Abbas port last Thursday.
This development signals that Iran’s missile production is ramping up again, despite an Israeli attack in October that significantly damaged Tehran’s missile production infrastructure and air defense systems. According to CNN, the newly delivered materials could supply 260 solid rocket motors for *Khaibar Shekan* missiles or 200 ballistic missiles of the Haj Qasem type.
