At times like these, one can almost feel sorry for Allah. A gathering of armies, each one yelling "Allah hu Akhbar" while killing the other. It must be a confusing time for the Muslim God - who to support?
Who else can one almost feel sorry for? The Muslims in the west. Last night there was a large protest against the "crimes" of Israel. These protests will never say a word about the Muslims slaughtering Muslims, Arabs murdering Arabs, in Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq, Pakistan, or Afghanistan. Funny that this never happens in Israel.
By the way - this is not going to stop any time soon. Like the 10/7 Hamas attack - most Muslims cheered and beat their chest with pride. That lasted 24 hours. One wonders how long the Islamists and their patron, Turkey will be celebrating, before Shiite militias and THEIR patron, Iran, will regroup and re-take Aleppo, or at least, try to.
The Syria war has been going on since 2011.
Right now, the West, including Israel, is mostly sitting by the side. Many say: 'Why interfere? Let them kill each other', but we may not have that luxury for long.
Erdogan's Turkey has said in the last months that it will release 'a world of pain' on Israel. People laughed, but who knows? We may see Iran vanquished, only to have Turkey's proxies on the border at the Golan Heights.
Now is not the time for 'popcorn'.
Last night, on Shabbat, Netanyahu called for a top-level security assessment. To call such a meeting on Shabbat is a very rare event. Even rarer, scanning this morning's Hebrew press - there is no mention of the meeting.
One can only hope that Israel, and what allies it has, are looking very carefully at what is happening in Syria and making provisional plans.
As we saw in Lebanon, being prepared is the strongest weapon an army can have.
