BREAKING: PM Netanyahu withdraws appointment of VADM Eli Sharvit as Shin Bet chief

After a conversation between the two, Netanyahu announced that he intended to consider other candidates for the job.

The Prime Minister's Office revealed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a second meeting last night with Vice Admiral Eli Sharvit to discuss his potential appointment as the director of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet). Following their discussion, Netanyahu indicated that he would explore additional candidates for the position.

In response, VADM Sharvit stated: "The Prime Minister requested that I assume the role of agency director... I have complete confidence in the ISA's capacity to confront the challenges ahead."
