IDF: The Salafi-jihadist organization "Lords of the Desert" kidnapped and held Shiri, Ariel and Kfir Bibas - and they were certainly brutally murdered by the terrorists. 

We will deal with Hamas' violation severely - but for now, the release of the hostages on Saturday is expected to take place as planned and without change.

The head of the IDF Directorate for the Families of the Kidnapped, Maj. Gen. Lior Carmeli, and IDF Spokesperson, Brigadier General Daniel Hegary, met in recent hours in Kfar Maccabiah with Yarden Bibas and the family members - and gave them the details, after previously visiting the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Abu Kabir. 

The text of the IDF Spokesperson's statement that was published was approved in coordination with Yarden Bibas and the other family members.

Additional details about the identification process today at the Institute of Forensic Medicine: 

Early in the process, the late Oded Lifshitz was identified, and the experts also determined that he was murdered by the terrorists. 

Identifying the Bibas family members was more complex - first Ariel was identified, then Kfir - and both were definitely identified. 

The body of the anonymous woman that Hamas handed over to Israel was examined several times. The IDF says that she arrived dressed in items of clothing, and in a condition that clearly indicates that she was not Bibas's. 

The IDF tried to perform DNA matches on all the other Israeli hostages held by Hamas, and there was no match for any of them.
