The French news agency reported, citing police sources, that the French security agencies recently arrested a couple for "participating in Iran's plots to kill Jews in Europe."
In this report, the identities of these two people were "Abdul Karim Sh. 34 years old" and his wife "Sabrina b. 33 years old" and they were arrested on May 5 this year.
Citing sources in the French police, the news agency reported that the couple planned to "kill several Jews in Germany and France" and an indictment was filed against them in a Paris court in May.
The arrest report of the two men was first published on the French website "Mediapar", and according to this website, the code name of this case is "Marco Polo".
The French Agency for Internal Security (DJSA) in a report seen by the AFP agency referred to this case as an indication of the "revival of terrorism supported by the Iranian government in Europe".
According to AFP, the document also mentions that Iran's security institutions "renewed the policy of targeted elimination since 2015" and that these threats "have gotten worse" due to the war in Gaza.
The AFP report is published a few days after the publication of the investigation by the German Der Spiegel, which wrote that the Islamic Republic "systematically" recruited criminals in Europe to carry out attacks against Jews and Israelis.
A note in the background of the article: Israel should publicly clarify that any criminal on European soil who dares to harm a Jew will be eliminated, along with the heads of the organization he is a member of.
According to past experience, it is likely that the senior Iranian who was behind the assassination attempt by the French couple will be eliminated at some point in the future.
