Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said bomb threats originating from Russia were directed at polling places around the state, causing brief voting delays at a couple of locations.
“They’re up to mischief it seems,” Raffensperger said of Russian actors during a press conference. “They don’t want us to have a smooth, fair and accurate election.” Five to seven precincts were affected by the bomb threats, he said. A Fulton County spokeswoman said the threats caused the temporary closure of two polling places in Union City, a community outside of Atlanta with a predominately Black population.
