The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reports that Turkey is escalating its attack near Aleppo against the US-backed SDF Kurds.
Aleppo province: An SDF fighter was killed and four others were injured in airstrikes by a Turkish drone which targeted an SDF military post on Deir Hafer frontline in the eastern countryside of Aleppo. The injured fighters were taken to the hospital.
Meanwhile, six SDF fighters were killed in clashes with factions of the Turkish-backed “National Army” on the frontlines of Qarrah Quzaq and Teshreen dam in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.
Moreover, four Turkish-backed militiamen were killed and several military vehicles were destroyed in an attack by SDF on gatherings of factions of the “National Army” on Qarrah Quzaq frontline.
On the other hand, Turkish forces carried out ground attacks and airstrikes by drones and fighter jets for hours on the surrounding areas of Teshreen dam in Manbij countryside. This coincided with the ongoing protests on the body of the dam. However, no casualties have been reported.
According to SOHR statistics, the number of combatants and civilians who have been killed in bombardment, airstrikes and clashes between SDF and Turkish-backed factions since the beginning of military escalation in Manbij city and countryside on December 12, 2024, has reached 565.
