NEWSRAEL: It should be noted that there is more to making a soldier than giving him a gun and telling him how to pull the trigger. Any new recruits will be no more than "cannon fodder".
Hamas' attempt to rehabilitate itself: The IDF recognizes an effort by Hamas to recruit and train new operatives for the military wing, so that they replace those who were killed or injured in the war.
Hamas appeals to 18-year-old youths to enlist in its ranks, and in recent days the security officials have also identified attempts to carry out training and training for those newly recruited terrorists. The terrorists that Hamas is trying to recruit are intended to replace about 14,000 terrorists that Israel has eliminated so far in the war, and many thousands more who were injured.
A senior member of the security establishment says: All of Hamas's military frameworks are recovering, Hamas is trying to rehabilitate all over the Gaza Strip, but mainly in the areas where the IDF does not operate - the north of the Gaza Strip and Khan Yunis.
Khan Yunis is a good example of the recovery of Hamas - not only the military frameworks that are being rebuilt there, more than two months after the 98th Division left the area, but also the restoration of local control - the presence of Hamas people on the streets, local policing, and taking over the humanitarian deliveries.
The ruling arm of Hamas is also rehabilitating itself, which is why the IDF has been placing special emphasis in recent weeks on the elimination of members of Hamas' internal security mechanisms: the IDF (general security), the counter-security, the emergency committees and the local police.
Since the beginning of the war, about 50 commanders and senior officials in these bodies have been eliminated.
